Laurent Miquel takes great pride in the grapes, vines, and the very core of the wine - the soil. There is limited intervention in order to preserve the natural cycle of wine production, keeping everything close to nature's true product.  Location for wine growth is optimal and cover over 140 hectares.  Decades of experience passed down over family generations contributes to the accumulated success for working in the unique conditions of the Laguedoc region.

Since 1791, eight generations of the Miquel family have worked the vines of their estate high in Languedoc hills. Father to Son, harvest after harvest, they deepen their knowledge of the fickle nature of the vines that grow here and learn to work in harmony with nature. Laurent, the latest generation winemaker, combines the force of his ancestors’ wisdom with his rebellious and innovative approach to create wines with true Languedoc character.

‘Pas de Géant – Giant steps’ is the tribute given to the lands of the iconic two regions. A perfect love story marrying the Giants Causeway of the Irish islands with the Languedoc hills of southern France, creating a unique and beautiful combination as one final flavor. The perfect blend of two cultures, with French soul and Irish spirit. This collection then becomes a tribute to his marriage, the unification between France and Ireland.

A blend typical of southern France with domineering spice of Syrah and juicy, full Grenache. This French aged wine is ripe of red fruits on the nose, with smooth mocha, rich herbs and spices. On the palate the wine is mellow with acute berry flavor and attributes of rosemary, thyme and floral tones. Rich berry fruit is a known signature in association with Laurent elegance all with a smooth, velvet finish. Partly aged in French barrels (1-2 years old) for 6 months to add more complexity. Partly aged in stainless steel tanks to add bright berry notes. Best served with slow cooked pork belly or French confit of duck. Ideal temperature, between 14° and 16°C.
